Hello, Hola, Hi and Hey! What's up, Daniel?! I was just wondering if you ever took a look at that blues radio website www.banditblues.com to submit your CD to to get it played on there. I think it would help you get some well-deserved wide exposure. Check it out, my brother! Check it out! See you at the Saloon...

What it be like, Daniel?! I just wanted to let you know that I'm trying to help to continue spreading the word about your bad-ass by posting ads on classified ad websites stating when your playing here in North Beach. I also let the webmaster of a blues radio station website called Banditblues.com know about you and told them they should try to find out who you are and add you too their playlist. Keep on kickin' ass and taking names! See you at the show tonight...

Daniel - wow! I've seen you play several times, but you were really ON Friday at Grant and Green. I danced my a#$ off - hope I didn't CROWD you, with all that shakin' goin' on in the front row. It's always nice to see a musician having FUN up on stage. The crowd could feel that, and responded. I'll be back. Luv ya! Diane.

To the band: Your music is wonderful, your styles mix all too well. To add Daniel to the mix, makes your sound unique and very special. To Daniel: You speak so good with that guitar, no words are necessary. I admire anyone who can play as well. I hope to continue to enjoy your music as long as you keep playing. You guys are definitely a favorite!!!! Love ya, Carla

I've been lucky enough to hear Daniel around the Bay Area for the past couple of years. Although North Beach has been the best venue for me and the friends that I have introduced, it wouldn't matter if he played New Jersey! San Francisco loves him and if any visitors should happen upon him and that fabulous band, they will be all the richer. He is an admirable person and I personally admire his character very much. The BAND rocks just as much..... An SF Native~~~~~

Whether Daniel and his group play the Blues in Sturgess, Sa Fran or Sonora it is the best that I have heard and I can't find any that is better. When I find that I've had enough of the crap of the day, I slide Daniel's CD in and get back to what life is all about. Thanks for the great sounds and we hope there is more to come. Hey, Daniel, Thanx for the show and signing the CD on Sat.@ Grant & Green. We've been down with your sound and TONE every since you used to sit in with Johnny @ The Saloon. The band is too TIGHT! The bass player is insane and the drummer should be shackled to your amp so he doesn't stray. No sittin' back in the pocket for these guys, they rip the f@#$%*+ pockets right off the jeans, drivin' you on down the blues highway! The keys are happening, too. We especially like the way you hang out and talk to the good people when you are on break. It says a lot about where you're coming from and what your priorities are. You are carrying the torch that burns the blue flame and it could not be in better hands. We've been playing 'no surrender' in our cafe and the people really love it. You guys did an awesome job and have raised the bar for everyone else. This is good for the blues, here and everywhere. Dos palomas was a great surprise and is such an emotional and introspective piece. Like a lifetime of feelings boiled down into 5 minutes. It belongs on a film soundtrack and reminds me of Ry Cooder's best work. Keep up your life's work and know that you are providing inspiration to us all. See ya' soon!!! Peace

This first part is written for the public, and the second is written for Daniel. When we as people listen to music, we listen because it brings us close to our perceptions of good. It realeases and de-programs stress and takes us to wonderfull places. Those who love seeing and listening to blues can do themselves a favor by visiting the Deaniel Castro band. Daniel and company are one of those bands that really play with conviction. Every note, beat, and nuance is for REAL! A true jem in this modern day. The band as a whole is in the class of blues elites. And to top it all off, they are all wonderful poeple. Very humble, warm, and receptive. If you crave something new with old school flavor, you will be very, very pleased to catch their show. Daniel, Right on brother. God bless you my friend. Hope you experience all the success you deserve. Thanks for your kindness and inspiration. I feel that you truly give positive force to the perpetuation of modern electric blues. Keep that guitar talking, and keep spreading the gift you've been given. It's now your responsobility. You continue to touch those who listen. I hear people talk about it every time you play. Later from Stockton, Jeramy (Jerry) Norris

Daniel!!!! Why aren't you 'International" *already*??!??!??!?? I have NOT heard a guitarist with as much 'fire and desire' in decades!!! ...and I work with musicians every day of the week! Your vocals are 'hell-a' strong and 'purr-fect' for each tune too... But! every artist needs a band to back him up - and YOU have THE best there is!!!! If a rhythm-section is not 'happening' then the band is flat, with no direction... but, you, my Man, have THE best drummer and bass player going! Man, they work *together* to provide the best possible foundation for your sonic delivery. You had better guard them with your life cause somebody's gonna try and 'steal-your-good-thing'!!!! The band's new addition, Michael Emerson, on keyboards is a phenomenal find!!!! The man fills out the rest of the rhythm section, adds a new deminsion to your 'lead-section', and holds his own in a very demanding band - as great as you are, and hard on yourself, it can't be easy to play in your band! Kudos to the 3 guys that make you 'shine' as bright as you do!!!!!! ...now for your CD: I haven't heard a recording in decades that raised the 'bar/standard of excellence' like yours does!!! It's one of THE best produced recordings I've EVER heard in my life! It's so dynamic, that you're just left breathless from first note to the last. You can certainly tell that attention was given to each note, chord, bar, and how the song list was laid out..... When I put it on I usually wind up listening to it multiple times! I have *never* listened to *ANY* recording THAT much! I highly recommend *ANYBODY* to check Daniel's band out, frequently!!! (I sure do!!!)

We were in SF 4/19 and stopped at Lou's. You are an outstanding blues player. Have you played with Jonny Lang? Hope you can get to Reno sometime. There is a radio station called KTHX (www.kthxfm.com)that plays blues. They can refer you to a place in town that has local bands and others who play blues and jazz on a weekly basis. This resturant is called Big Eds. Sure would like to see you come to Reno sometime. Steve and Glenda

From the first chord to last, anecdotes in between, pullin us in for a special ride every time thats never the same, seeing Daniel and the band play over the last 2 and a half years has ceased being a show and become a retreat. Spending time inside the music is the guiding light that seems to keep me centered, or put me back on the road if I've drifted into the oncoming lane. Words of thanks could never express my gratitude. "The Mangler"
